The Jacey Gown – Blessing Gowns of Natural Silk
Of our many Blessing Gowns, this one is quite gorgeous. It is hand made of 100% silk dupioni. Because of the natural fibers of the silk, it is slightly off-white and may have natural bumps in the thread. This gives the dress a natural and gentle softness and allows the detail of the dress to pop.
This Blessing Gown has a scalloped wide peter pan collar with hand embroidery detail on each. A think cutwork of lace is sewn from the neckline to the bottom of the bodice and bordered on each side with two sewn columns. On either side of the bodice is an embroidery design matching that of the collar. The embroider includes little pearls the flowers. The short doll sleeves are puffed at the top and gathered at the hem.
The skirt of the dress has an exquisite design. It’s gathered at the waist and flows to a beautiful, long length. The bottom third of the skirt features lace cutwork, more hand embroidery, and a double scalloped hem. A big design of the same matching style as the bodice is embroidered in an upside down “V” along the inside of the lace cutwork. Notice the embroidery design just above the rounded edges on the outside hem as well.
The outside hem on the matching bonnet is an embroidered scalloped edge. Embroidered column border and embroidered design on the top.
Very feminine and timely Blessing Gowns!
Dupioni Silk comes from the threads of two different silk worms, which is why the fibers are slightly rougher and contain natural irregularities. Advantageously, it is wrinkle resistant but still flows well. Dupioni Silk is commonly used in formal wear, particularly wedding gowns.
