This satin gown is made with elegant 100% cotton sateen, creating a lustrous look without being slippery. Puffed doll sleeves gather at the bottom and are then trimmed in embroidered lace. A long sash ties into a bow at the waist and flows past the length of the extra long dress. The skirt of the dress is covered in rosettes for a more fanciful and flowery look.
This dress comes with a fully lined cotton underskirt, so no separate slip is needed.

Sateen is made from the mercerized fibers of cotton, but woven in a satin weave. Satin weave is where multiple threads of the same direction dominate either surface. Egyptian cotton is matte and crisp whereas sateen is shiny, drapey, smooth, and more delicate. It’s a beautiful fabric for a special occasion dress as this.

Helen, the designer and seamstress, was born and raised in Hungary where she attended design and sewing school. When she moved to the US she worked for designer Christian Dior in NYC.
