Dress Details
Hand made of 100% silk dupioni. Because of natural fibers of the silk, it is slightly off-white and may have natural bumps in the thread. This gives the dress a natural and gentle softness and allows the detail of the dress to pop.
Dress starts with a scalloped-edge wide peter pan collar and hand embroidery detail on each side. Embroidery includes flowers made of little pearls. A larger, matching embroidery design fancies either side of the bodice as well. In center of bodice, lace cutwork sewn from neckline to waist and bordered on each side with two pintucks. Short doll sleeves puff at the top and gather at the hem.
The skirt of the dress has an exquisite design. Gathering from the waist, the skirt then flows to a beautiful, extra long length. Swooping lace cutwork sets off design of double scalloped hem. More hand embroidery completes the design.
Outside hem on matching bonnet is an embroidered scalloped edge. Then followed by two pintucks and embroidered design on top. Finally, bonnet gathers at crown and ties in front.

Dupioni Silk comes from the threads of two different silk worms, which is why the fibers are slightly rougher and contain natural irregularities. Advantageously, it is wrinkle resistant but still flows well. Dupioni Silk is commonly used in formal wear, particularly wedding gowns.
